Dryers for hay and forage grasses
Hay and forage grasses are green mass with high initial moisture content that must be brought quickly down to safe storage moisture without losing nutritional value. In field finishing the leaf dries out, breaks and crumbles away, taking protein and carotene with it; controlled industrial drying removes moisture gently and uniformly and preserves feed value.
For forage grasses - alfalfa, clover, sainfoin, timothy grass, ryegrass, vetch and sudan grass - we select belt dryers with a turner and drum solutions of the required throughput. The mode is chosen so as not to over-dry or overheat the mass: for alfalfa and legume grasses it is important to preserve the leaf, and for cereal grasses, uniformity across the whole layer.
Forage grasses are a notable commercial direction: dry hay and grass meal of export quality require a stable mode that field drying cannot provide.

Alfalfa / lucerne
A standalone commercial niche. Gentle drying (60-120 °C) preserves protein, colour and leaf mass - losses of around 2% versus 10-15% on drum dryers.
Suitable dryers: Belt dryers with turner Scolari 2T/3T, Alvan Blanch CD, Herbas

Clover
A forage legume grass; gentle drying preserves the leaf and nutritional value.

Sainfoin
A valuable forage crop of arid regions; it is important to preserve the leaf and quality.
Suitable dryers: Scolari T/C, Alvan Blanch CD

Timothy grass
A cereal forage grass yielding export-quality hay; uniform, gentle drying.
